Laura Ingalls Wilder is my favorite writer, but there are others I enjoy. Although once extremely popular, some of these have been mostly forgotten by the modern reading public like Mary J. Holmes, Gene Stratton-Porter, or Bess Streeter Aldrich. Another on the list is Iowa author Ruth Suckow. You must realize by now how much I like to promote Iowa related things so I hope this post will inspire some of you to look for a Suckow novel to read.
