How do we respect Memorial Day each year in the Midwest? Every year we put out flowers on family graves near here. We put out flowers on Junior Herring’s grave – he was killed in Pearl Harbor and no one is left here to decorate his grave so I do. On Sunday morning we attend the Solon Firefighters Pancake Breakfast. On Monday morning we attend the services in Solon. I hope you remember both loved ones and heroes this weekend.
