I spoke at the Ingalls Homestead

Tessa Flak had first full year as director. The Memorial Society in De Smet has long staunchly held that when you pay a subscription for Laura Ingalls Wilder Lore that was all you were getting and it was completely separate from the museum is rolling the subscriptions into a new membership program. They will honor current subscriptions until they expire including current lifetime memberships, but it will no longer be an option to get new ones. A wish list for donations is listed in the Winter 2015 issue of the Lore with a fuller explanation of the new membership program.

Mansfield, MO

Opened new museum that have long wanted officially in April as part as their long term site plan.

Malone, NY

Mountain Lake PBS produced a news magazine segment on the Almanzo Wilder farm.

Almanzo and Laura Anniversary Celebration – Thursday, August 25, 2016

Bill Menke, husband of Almanzo Wilder farm former archivist Elizabeth, passed away this year. They also lost former volunteer Fred Holmes and current volunteer Bonnie Demerse died this year.

Ken Pulsifer was a long time volunteer and board member who constructed a trail to the schoolhouse. A new sign was put up this year with the trail’s name “Schoolhouse Trail” and Pulsifer’s name.
