Christmas Tree Ornaments

UPDATE: Although they are not part of the working together set I was talking about, I’ve just heard from Mansfield directly and they also have ornaments that match so you can add those to your set. The Ingalls Homestead did previously, but are currently changing vendors. As soon as they let me know they have more, I’ll let you know.

UPDATE 2: More of this set continue to come out including a limited edition one for the 40th anniversary of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in Walnut Grove, MN.

I had heard about this last year, but until I actually hit the homesites this year and saw them for myself, I didn’t fully understand the genius of what they did.  Last year I heard individually from several of the homesites that they had unveiled a handpainted glass christmas ball ornament depicting their site. I thought some clever seller had hit all the sites, but no, this wasn’t an individual decision, they were working together. They very cleverly created a series of four ornaments, one each depicting Walnut Grove, Burr Oak, Spring Valley, and Pepin. But, and here is the genius, although all four are displayed at each site you can only by that particular site’s ornament at that site or by mail order from that site (for example, I bought Pepin’s at Pepin and it’s only available there). So you have to buy each one at a different homesite to complete…
