UPDATE: A few more Hispanic stores have opened up closer to where I live, but honestly none of them are as nice as La Tapatia in Des Moines. La Tapatia has not created an online presence, but the automatically created Google plus page includes an address and map and a few more endorsements from other people.

La Tapatia
A couple of years ago a took a class on ethnic groups in Iowa through the Iowa Geographic Alliance. We toured all over and around Des Moines. We stopped at churches and religious centers and stores and even ate in restaurants owned by recent immigrants from various countries. One of my favorite stops was a Mexican grocery store in the shadow of the state capitol called La Tapatia. It’s a great store and has become our source for several different things. We especially consider it our source for all mango products. We love their mango juice and mango gelatin.
