As I’ve posted about before, I have long had a sentimental attachment for the cabins in Iowa City’s City Park. Oct. 19, 2013 was the second annual fundraiser for repairing the site and while some metal roof patching has been added, the overall condition of the roofs is steadily getting worse. A good roof is THE primary thing you can do for the protection of a historic building. While there is lots of other stuff that you CAN do, once that roof is gone it’s a rare building that will remain standing a year later. The damage here is getting critical. So I’m putting out word. If you’re interested in Iowa City history, please consider donating.
Checks should be made payable to the ICPRD Foundation with the note “City Park Log Cabins.” Please send gifts to:

Please help spread the word.
