Quote: “I am a hardened and shameless tea drinker…”

Harts Tea and Tarts

“I am a hardened and shameless tea drinker, who has for twenty years diluted his meals only with the infusion of this fascinating plant; whose kettle has scarcely time to cool; who with tea amuses the evening, with tea solaces the midnight, and with tea welcomes the morning. ”

– Samuel Johnson

Quoted in Tea for Two published by the Clever Factory of Nashville, TN

The photo is from my favorite tea shop. It’s in Decorah, Iowa. It’s called Hart’s Tea and Tarts. Both the quote and the photo called to me.

  1. On our way to LauraPalooza, my husband and I spent the night in Decorah. It was late in the evening and we left early the next morning. We drove through the town looking for a place to eat and were sorry that it was so late. Would have loved to explored a little more as it seemed like a lovely downtown. Maybe some day…and would hope that Harts Teas and Tarts is still there!

    1. I hope you get a chance too. It’s a great place. I think you probably found a pretty good place to eat. There’s lot of a different restaurants around Decorah.
