Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Card me and turkeyI hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. We had a really nice family time this year. My brother did a great deep-fat fried turkey. I also wanted to share one of my favorite Laura Ingalls Wilder quotes. It’s from a Missouri Ruralist column in which she retells the story of Mary and her fighting over whether to have sage or onion flavoring in the stuffing by Silver Lake.

“This little happening has helped me to be properly thankful even though at times the seasoning of my blessings has not been just such as I would have chosen.”

Often people seem to be hardwired to find fault rather than gratitude, so throughout the year I like to think of this quote and be thankful for my blessings, even when I would prefer a different  flavor or form.

UPDATED November 25 2017: I added my current signature block and the Thanksgiving card.
